Legwinski boost for Fulham

News round-up: Sylvain Legwinski has signed a one-year extension to his Fulham FC contract.

Sylvain Legwinski has signed an extension to his Fulham FC contract keeping him at the English Premiership club until the summer of 2006.

'Team-mates are great'
The French midfield player joins compatriot Steed Malbranque in committing himself to the club. Legwinski said: "I am happy to think about ending my career here. I am really enjoying my time at the club, my team-mates are great and the atmosphere inside the club is very good."

Thome sidelined
Elsewhere in the Premiership, Bolton Wanderers FC defender Emerson Thome has been ruled out with a hamstring problem sustained in the League Cup victory against Gillingham FC on Tuesday. Manager Sam Allardyce said: "Emerson will probably be out for two to three weeks. We will have to wait and see what our medical team can do."

Clubs punished
The Turkish Football Association has punished Rizespor and Samsunspor for trouble involving their fans. Incidents occurred at Rizespor's recent match against Galatasaray SK and in the game between Samsunspor and Gaziantepspor. Rizespor must play a home game behind closed doors and pay a fine of €1,500, while Samsunspor have been ordered to switch their next home match against Gençlerbirligi SK to a neutral venue and pay a €600 penalty. Samsunspor spokesman Ercan Ince said the Gençlerbirligi game would now be played in Yozgat.

Amoruso injury
Modena FC striker Nicola Amoruso will miss the Serie A matches against AC Perugia and Reggina Calcio after suffering a back injury in training. The 29-year-old faces up to a month on the sidelines but hopes to return against his former club Juventus FC on 23 November.

Empoli pair out
Empoli FC's Cribari and Flavio Giampieretti have also been ruled out for a month. Brazilian defender Cribari has undergone facial surgery after fracturing his lower jaw, while midfield player Giampieretti has suffered a left thigh injury.

De Sanctis contract
Udinese Calcio have handed a new contract to their goalkeeper Morgan De Sanctis. The 26-year-old will remain at the Friuli stadium until 2008.

Adoube absent
Bundesliga strugglers FC Hansa Rostock could be without midfield player Gottfried Adoube for up to four weeks after he damaged a hamstring as his team exited the German Cup against Hertha BSC Berlin on Tuesday.

Emana damages hamstring
Toulouse FC midfield player Achille Emana has also succumbed to a hamstring problem and the Ligue 1 club's physiotherapist, Benoît Hennart, said: "He will be sidelined for three or four weeks."
