All square
Alexandre Jefferson put the home side ahead after eight minutes, but a goal either side of half-time by Roberto Pinho gave the visitors the lead. Prolific Romania striker Ionel Gane saved a point for the home team with a strike on the hour mark.

Fine response
FC Lugano moved level with St.Gallen on points after a 3-1 win at Neuchâtel Xamax FC. Timothée Atouba opened the scoring for Neuchâtel after four minutes, but second half goals from Bruno Sutter after 62 minutes, Olivier Biaggi 13 minutes later and Julio Hernán Rossi nine minutes from time gave the visitors victory.

And elsewhere
FC Sion fell to a 2-0 defeat to FC Aarau, with goals three minutes from the end of each half by Giperlandio Gil and Daniel Tarone respectively. Strugglers FC Zürich and FC Luzern drew 1-1, with Colombian Gabriel Urdaneta equalising Feliciano Magro's goal.
