AFC Ajax coach Ronald Koeman has extended his contract with the Dutch giants until July 2006.

Century of matches
The former Dutch international's original deal was due to expire in July 2004. Koeman was appointed in December 2001, when he succeeded Co Adriaanse. The UEFA Champions League match against Club Brugge KV on Tuesday was his 100th in charge of the Amsterdam club - and of that century he has won 63 games, drawn 21 and lost 16.

European hopes over
In 2002, Koeman led Ajax to a league and cup double, and last season the team reached the last eight of the Champions League. However, defeat at Brugge earlier this week ended their current European campaign as they finished bottom of Champions League Group H, missing out on a place in the UEFA Cup.
