Lajos Détári has been appointed coach of Hungarian first division team Kispest Honvéd FC.

Six-month contract
Détári, 39, has signed a six-month contract to replace Robert Glazer who left for Újpesti TE in December. The club announced the decision on Wednesday.

Capped 61 times
Détári enjoyed a glittering playing career. The former Eintracht Frankfurt and Bologna FC midfield player was capped 61 times for Hungary. Kispest are seventh in the table, but will have time to get settled in as Hungary are on their winter break.

World Cup goal
The appointment is the sixth managerial change in the 12-team championship in the past month. Détári, who made his name at Kispest before moving abroad, played for Hungary at the 1986 FIFA World Cup scoring in their 2-0 win over Canada.
