Haladás VFC have appointed former Györi ETO FC midfielder Lazar Szentes as their new coach.

Six-month contract
The 47-year-old Szentes, who played six times for the Hungarian national team, has signed a six-month contract with the club. Haladás confirmed on Thursday there was the possibility of a one-year extension.

Keszei sacked
Szentes has replaced Ferenc Keszei, who was sacked last month after a poor run of results which left Haladás in eleventh place in the 12-team Hungarian first division. The 51-year-old had helped Haladás win promotion to the top flight last season.
