Former Real Madrid CF defender Aitor Karanka has been named as an assistant to newly-appointed coach José Mourinho at the Santiago Bernabéu. Karanka started his coaching career in 2008 and was in charge of Spain's Under-15 and U16 teams but now returns to the club where he won three UEFA Champions League titles between 1997 and 2002. He joins Mourinho's staff alongside Rui Faria, Silvino Louro and Jose Morais.
