Bayern deal rewards youngster

FC Bayern München midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger has signed a new contract, keeping him at the club till 2007.
FC Bayern München midfield player Bastian Schweinsteiger has signed a new contract, keeping him at the club until summer 2007.

Two more years
The 19-year-old's previous deal was due to expire in 2005, but after talks with Bayern manager Uli Hoeness, Schweinsteiger has committed himself to the defending German champions for another two years.

'Very happy'
The player, who has scored three goals in 19 appearances this season, said: "I know that Bayern is the best club for me to be at and I am very happy to have reached an agreement to stay here until 2007."
