SC Bastia have relented on their decision to dismiss coach Gérard Gili.
Club president François Nicolaï fired Gili on Monday after a high-profile argument, but the pair have now reconciled their differences and are prepared to work together to help keep the Corsican club in Ligue 1.
"Gérard Gili will stay until the end of the season," said Nicolaï at a joint press conference with Gili. "I have made this decision in the interest of the club, to ensure we stay in Ligue 1."
Gili in turn restated his commitment to Bastia despite saying at the weekend that the club "need a new president to improve." Bastia are 13th in Ligue 1, seven points clear of the relegation zone.
