Steaua to miss Munteanu

FC Steaua Bucuresti's Romanian title hopes have been dented by an injury to midfield player Dorinel Munteanu.
FC Steaua Bucuresti's Romanian title hopes have been dented by an injury to influential midfield player Dorinel Munteanu.

'Bad luck'
The 36-year-old suffered a muscle tear during Sunday's league win against FC Petrolul Ploiesti, which will rule him out for a month. Steaua are two points behind leaders FC Dinamo Bucuresti, with eleven games to play. Coach Victor Piturca said: "We have to live with this bad luck. We just have to think about winning our next game."

International no-go
The injury also ends Munteanu's chances of winning a 120th international cap in Romania's friendly against Germany in Bucharest on 28 April. The veteran spent eight and a half years in the Bundesliga with 1. FC Köln and VfL Wolfsburg.
