Martin ends Marseille misery

Olympique de Marseille defender Lilian Martin has joined Scottish Premier League side Hibernian FC.

Olympique de Marseille defender Lilian Martin has joined Scottish Premier League side Hibernian FC.

Amicable exit
The 30-year-old defender ended his contract with Marseille by mutual consent. The exit was described as amicable despite the player's tense relationships with the club’s three coaches this season, José Anigo, Tomislav Ivic and Albert Emon.

First session
Martin has signed for the Scottish side until the summer of 2004 and is expected to have his first training session with Franck Sauzée's side today. Martin also played nine games for FA Premiership side Derby County FC last season.
