Tutas in charge
The club have placed youth team coach Alaattin Tutas in charge for their three remaining matches, although a permanent replacement will be found in the summer. Kurtar had been in the post since the resignation of his predecessor Milorad Mitrovic last October.
'Lot of effort'
"We took this decision to open the way for the new coach who will train our side from next season," said club president Baki Aydin. "Over the season, Kurtar and his team put in a lot of effort to keep us in the top flight but, unfortunately, they failed."
Praise for players
The outgoing Kurtar praised the efforts of his players despite their inability to avoid demotion. He said: "It is obvious what the situation was at the club when I took over. The players did their utmost to avoid relegation
. However, the other sides showed their experience and we lost out." Elazigspor's relegation from the top flight was confirmed last weekend following a 4-0 defeat at Bursaspor.
