PSV show faith in youth

PSV Eindhoven striker Ibrahim Afellay is one of several talented youngsters to sign a new contract with the club.

PSV Eindhoven striker Ibrahim Afellay has extended his contract by three years to keep him at the Dutch club until 2007. The 18-year-old is one of several talented youngsters to put pen to paper at the Philips stadium.

Faith in youth
Nyron Wau, a 20-year-old attacker currently on loan at second division side Helmond Sport, and goalkeeper Otman Bakkal, 19, who has played two Eredivisie matches this season, have also signed up until summer 2007. Meanwhile, 19-year-old Belgian forward Sepp de Roover has extended his contract until 2006.

Cruciate surgery
Defender Leon Hese, 23, will return to PSV after his loan spell at Helmond Sport was cut short by a serious knee injury. He underwent cruciate ligament surgery in January and is ready to complete his recovery in Eindhoven.
