Escudé ruled out of Ajax run-in

AFC Ajax defender Julien Escudé will miss the climax to the Dutch title race after damaging ankle ligaments.
AFC Ajax defender Julien Escudé will miss the league match against NAC Breda on Sunday, when his team can clinch the Dutch title, after suffering a season-ending injury.

Training ground injury
The 24-year-old Frenchman damaged ligaments in his left ankle in training on Wednesday and faces six weeks of rehabilitation. This will sideline him for the home game against NAC and the trip to Willem II the following week - Ajax need just a point from these matches to win the championship ahead of PSV Eindhoven.

Consistent performer
Escudé moved to Amsterdam from Stade Rennais FC last summer. He has appeared in 31 of Ajax's 32 Eredivisie games this season - more than any other player.
