Slovakia striker Szilárd Nemeth came off the bench on Tuesday night to fire Middlesbrough FC to a precious 2-1 FA Premiership victory over Fulham FC.
Up to eleventh
The former AŠK Inter Bratislava forward struck 13 minutes from time to send Middlesbrough to the relative comfort of eleventh place after a crucial win at the Riverside stadium. Nemeth turned on the left-hand side of the penalty area to crash a low drive past Fulham goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar and restore his side's lead.
Bokšic opener
Croatian international Alen Bokšic gave the Teessiders a 27th-minute lead with a cool finish but Steve Marlet equalised eleven minutes after the restart. The margin of Middlesbrough's victory could have been greater had Ugo Ehiogu's 72nd-minute header not come back off the crossbar.
