Turkish Superleague side Malatyaspor have parted company with coach Mehmet Özdilek despite defeating newly-crowned champions Fenerbahçe SK 4-2 on Friday. In a written statement issued by the club, it was revealed that a "failure to meet on collective terms" caused the Malatya club to dispense with Özdilek's services.
The former Besiktas JK player had only been in charge since the winter break, when he took over from previous coach Ziya Dogan. But after winning his first game in charge, Özdilek oversaw a run of ten games without victory - and three wins in the club's final six fixtures of the season failed to rescue his job.
