BV Borussia Dortmund and coach Matthias Sammer will go their separate ways on 30 June.
'Best for both'
Sammer and the club agreed to terminate his contract – which was valid for another year – at a meeting on Sunday. "We sat down and agreed that it would be the best thing for both sides," said Dortmund chairman Gerd Niebaum.

Sammer took over Dortmund in 2001 and led them to the Bundesliga crown and the UEFA Cup final in 2002. The 37-year old is currently the favourite to take over as coach of VfB Stuttgart, where he spent two years as a player, winning the German league title in 1992.
