Müller time for Mallorca

Swiss defender Patrick Müller has agreed to join RCD Mallorca from French champions Olympique Lyonnais.

Switzerland international Patrick Müller has agreed to join RCD Mallorca on a three-year contract. The 27-year-old centre-half has spent the past four seasons at Olympique Lyonnais, but has opted to quit the Ligue 1 champions on a free transfer when his contract expires on Thursday.

Hat-trick of titles
Müller enjoyed an unprecedented run of success at Lyon, whom he joined in the summer of 2000 after two seasons at Grasshopper-Club, winning a hat-trick of titles between 2001/02 and 2003/04 as well as the League Cup in 2001.

Key roles
His versatility has led him to fill key roles for both club and country in both midfield and defence and he was an ever-present during Switzerland's UEFA EURO 2004™ campaign. Capped 48 times for his country, Müller joins a Mallorca club looking to improve on last season's eleventh-place finish in the Primera División.
