Malta striker Michael Mifsud has finally joined Lillestrøm SK from Sliema Wanderers FC.

European action
Mifsud, 23, had been due to move to Norway earlier in the summer but the deal was delayed because Sliema had wanted the player to honour the 18-month contract he had signed with the club at the turn of the year. Mifsud stayed with the Maltese champions and played in both UEFA Champions League first qualifying round matches against FBK Kaunas, which Sliema lost 6-1 on aggregate.

'Looking forward'
However, both clubs have now agreed on the transfer which will see Mifsud have a two-and-a-half year contract at Lillestrøm and make his debut against Tromsø IL on 1 August. "I am really looking forward to this new challenge," Mifsud told uefa.com.
