Switzerland round-up: Lugano go second

FC Lugano moved up to second in after a 1-0 win while Alexander Frei hit four for Servette FC.

FC Lugano moved up to second in the Nationalliga after a 1-0 win tonight while elsewhere Alexander Frei scored four for Servette FC.

Rossi on target
Argentinian striker Julio Rossi scored the only goal of the game in the 24th minute against FC St. Gallen to send the 2,500 fans home happy. The result means Lugano are now just five points behind leaders FC Basel while St. Gallen slip down to sixth.

Servette in command
In the other match played tonight, Servette FC overwhelmed struggling FC Sion 4-1 thanks to an inspired performance from Frei. The young Swiss international striker produced a man-of-the-match display, scoring all of his side's goals in 27 second-half minutes.

Second-half rout
The game took some time to get going, the supporters having to wait until the 63rd minute before Frei opened his account. Frei added to his first with another seven minutes later before Sion pulled one back through Nicolas Marazzi in the 79th minute.

Frei scores four
Servette responded immediately though with Frei completing his hat-trick from the penalty spot after 83 minutes. Frei then sealed a fine individual display with the fourth on the stroke of full-time.
