FC Basel pulled eight points clear at the top after beating Grasshopper-Club 4-1.

FC Basel pulled eight points clear at the top of the Nationalliga A after beating Grasshopper-Club 4-1 today.

Lugano second
With five games left to play FC Lugano are now second with Grasshoppers two points behind in third place.

Comfortable win
Hakan Yakin scored the opener for Basel after only a minute, but Grasshoppers struck back in the 14th minute, to level the scores at 1-1. Christian Gimenez restored Basel's lead two minutes into the second-half and Murat Yakin made it 3-1 from the penalty spot. A minute from time Ivan Ergic made sure of the result with a fourth.

Yasar double
In the day's other game FC Zürich overcame BSC Young Boys 2-0. Stephan Keller bundled the ball into the Young Boys net after only 13 minutes, but had his goal ruled out for a foul on the keeper. Ursal Yasar scored either side of half-time. Zurich stay seventh with Young Boys standing firm in fifth.
