England round-up: Cole fires Blackburn to victory

Andy Cole's diving header helped Blackburn Rovers FC to a 2-1 win over Everton FC on Sunday.

English international Andy Cole scored his tenth goal in 18 appearances as Blackburn Rovers FC celebrated their FA Premiership survival with a 2-1 win at Everton FC today.

Diving header
Cole sealed Blackburn's eleventh league win of the season when he pounced with a diving header in the 63rd minute after Damien Duff's volley had been parried by Everton keeper Paul Gerrard. The victory lifts Blackburn above Everton into 12th place.

Early lead
Matt Jansen had put the visitors ahead in the tenth minute when he rose unchallenged to head home from close range. But Everton drew level six minutes after half-time when Nick Chadwick's delicate back-heel crept over the line.
