Egaleo end Demol's tenure

Egaleo FC have sacked head coach Stephane Demol, the Greek side announced on Thursday.

Six-month spell
The 38-year old Belgian trainer was appointed at Egaleo on 2 July, and oversaw the club's first ever UEFA Cup campaign after Egaleo finished in fifth place in the Alpha Ethniki in 2003/04. However, although Egaleo reached the competition's inaugural group stage, they failed to progress beyond that hurdle after finishing bottom of Group E.

Poor run
In addition, although the Athens side currently lie in fourth position in the Greek top flight, they have won just once in their last ten league matches. The club are expected to announce Demol's successor within the next few days.
