FC Porto have signed Portuguese Under-21 international Paulo César Peixoto from CF Belenenses.

FC Porto have signed Portuguese Under-21 international winger Paulo César Peixoto from CF Os Belenenses for €1.5m on a five-year contract following weeks of hard negociations between both club presidents, Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa and Sequeira Nunes.

Peres thanked
At his first press conference as a Porto player César Peixoto thanked his former coach at Belenenses, Brazilian Marinho Peres, for "having faith in a player who the previous season had been playing in the fourth division [with Caçores das Taipas]".

Hot property
César Peixoto became one of Portuguese football's hottest properties after a dazzling 2001/02 season.
