Josico takes Villarreal option

José Joaquín Moreno 'Josico' has decided to move to Villarreal CF from UD Las Palmas.

José Joaquín Moreno 'Josico' has agreed on a transfer to Villarreal CF in the face of relegated UD Las Palmas's financial problems.

Free transfer
After four seasons with Las Palmas, Josico decided to terminate his contract with the debt-ridden club following Villarreal's agreement to pay him what Las Palmas owe him in back wages. Josico has signed a three-year contract with Villarreal who, as part of the deal, will play Las Palmas in a friendly at the Insular stadium.

'Best solution for me'
"This is the best solution for me and the club and their debts simply did not leave me with any other option," said Josico. After Edu Alonso and Vinny Samways, Josico is the third player to leave the island club, relegated from the Primera División last season, due to their financial problems.
