Switzerland round-up: Zürich challenge gathers pace

FC Zürich are within four points of the league leaders after a 2-1 win against FC Luzern.

FC Zürich moved to within four points of the league leaders with a 2-1 win against FC Luzern.

Intertoto disappointment
Their second away win of the campaign saw Zürich overcome the disappointment of defeat against Aston Villa FC in last weekend's UEFA Intertoto Cup games and move to within four points of league-leading local rivals Grasshopper-Club, and within a point of second-placed FC Wil 1900.

Taroni takes the points
Daniel Gygax got the visitors off to an excellent start with a goal after just ten minutes and they held on to their lead until the 59th minute when André Muff equalised for Luzern, but the hosts relief was to be short-lived as Daniel Taroni scored what proved to be the winner just three minutes later.
