Portuguese Cup winners Vitória FC have unveiled Norton de Matos as their new coach to succeed José Rachão.

Portuguese Cup winners Vitória FC have unveiled Norton de Matos as their new coach to succeed José Rachão.

Top-flight debut
The 51-year-old De Matos will be making his SuperLiga debut as a coach, having previously led clubs in the lower divisions, including SC Espinho and SC Salgueiros. He will be assisted by Hélder Fontes, Pedro Espinha, Carlos Cardoso and former Setúbal captai Hélio.

UEFA Cup aim
De Matos, whose team will start their sixth UEFA Cup campaign in the first round, said: "We will try to achieve the same success the club had last year and, as for the UEFA Cup, it all will depend on our opponents. We will try our best to reach the group stage."
