Baiano settles on Celta

RC Celta de Vigo have completed the transfer of Brazilian centre-forward Fernando Baiano from AD São Caetano.
Newly-promoted Primera División side RC Celta de Vigo have pipped regional rivals RC Deportivo La Coruña in signing Brazilian striker Fernando Baiano on a three-year deal with the option of a fourth.

The 26-year-old said: "I decided to join Celta as they were the first club to show interest in me. Also, my compatriots Edu and Sylvinho told me they are a serious club with prospects."

Top scorer
Baiano arrived in Spain in January, joining Málaga CF on loan from Brazilian team AD São Caetano, and wasted no time in resurrecting the struggling southern side's league campaign. Despite playing just half the season, he finished as Málaga's top scorer with nine goals.
