AFC Ajax’s Cedric van der Gun has joined Willem II on a season-long loan deal.

Late change
The midfield player had been expected to join FC Groningen but was persuaded at the last minute to move to Willem. He is already well used to loan deals having previously spent time at FC Den Bosch.

Limited opportunities
Van der Gun made his debut for Ajax in August 2000 and has scored nine goals in 45 games for the club. However, since Ronald Koeman took over from Co Adriaanse as coach, he has found his first-team options more limited.
