Poland round-up: Widzew denied at the death

Jacek Dembinski struck in added time to deny Widzew Lódz victory against KS Amica Wronki.

Widzew Lódz were held to a 1-1 draw by KS Amica Wronki today in an Ekstraklasa match postponed from the weekend.

Series of chances
Widzew dominated the first half, Piotr Wlodarczyk wasting their best opportunity early on when well placed. Amica started the second half the stronger, Jacek Dembinksi forcing a fine save from Marcin Ludwikowski. Widzew's Rafal Grzelak was the next player to go close, on the hour, after being slipped in by Brazlian Hermes.

First goal
Six minutes later, Grzelak's blushes were spared when Robert Dymkowski headed his first goal for Widzew from a Maciej Terlecki cross. It was so nearly 2-0 eleven minutes later but Dymkowski saw his fierce shot rebound back off the crossbar.

Late leveller
Amica refused to buckle, though, and pushed forward in search of a leveller. It finally arrived seconds from time, after three gilt-edged chances had gone begging, when Jacek Dembinski struck following a fine Marek Zienczuk pass.
