Markovic makes Dynamo move

The 23-year-old Serbo-Montenegrin international defender Marjan Markovic has joined Ukrainian giants FC Dynamo Kyiv from relegated Genoa 1893.
Serbo-Montenegrin international Marjan Markovic has joined FC Dynamo Kyiv from Genoa 1893. The defender accepted a four-year deal after Genoa were relegated two divisions from Serie A for match-fixing.

'Great club'
The 23-year-old caught the eye of Dynamo scouts while playing for his country at the recent Valeriy Lobanovskiy memorial tournament in Kiev. "I've joined a great club and I can't wait to make my debut," said Markovic, who turned down an offer from Italian side FC Messina Peloro.

International pedigree
Markovic made 126 top-flight appearances in five years for FK Crvena Zvezda, scoring eight goals, before swapping Belgrade for Genoa in December 2004. Dynamo were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League in the second qualifying round by Swiss team FC Thun.
