Zürich strengthen squad

FC Zürich have signed Argentinian player Sergio Bastida on a three-year contract.

FC Zürich have decided to strengthen their attacking options with the signing of Argentinian player Sergio Bastida on a three-year contract.

Former Lugano player
The 23-year-old, who also has a Bolivian passport, spent the last three years with FC Lugano, who were relegated at the end of last season.

Financial difficulties
Due to financial difficulties, Zürich have had to part company with many of their squad, relying almost entirely on their youth ranks. However with this signing the club, currently third in the Swiss Nationalliga A, are hoping to build towards earning a UEFA Cup place for next season.
