Grasshopper-Club strengthened their grip on the first division with a 3-0 win over FC Aarau.

Grasshopper-Club strengthened their grip on the Swiss first division with a 3-0 defeat of struggling FC Aarau.

Inspired spell
Mladen Petric (37), Mate Baturina (54) and Richard Nunez (60) decided the match inside 25 minutes in the absence of injured striker Antonio Barijho.

Champions second
Champions FC Basel stayed second, overcoming an early deficit to defeat BSC Young Boys 2-1. The visitors took an early lead through Gurkan Sermeter but Christian Gimenez levelled on 68 minutes and Herve Tum had the final word eight minutes from time.

Frei free-kick
Servette FC comfortably despatched FC Zürich 2-0, Leonard Thurre opening their account on 26 minutes after a cross from Massimo Lombardo and Alexandre Frei doubling the lead with a 20-metre fee-kick.

Kavelashvili decisive
FC Luzern edged past St. Gallen 1-0 thanks to Mikheil Kavelashvili’s 60th minute strike and SR Delémont were one goal better than FC Thun in a meeting of newly promoted sides. Finally, FC Will 1900 ran out 2-1 winners against Neuchatel Xamax FC.
