Russia round-up: CSKA take advantage

PFC CSKA Moskva leapfrogged PFC CSKA Moskva at the summit of the Russian Premier-Liga.

PFC CSKA Moskva leapfrogged PFC CSKA Moskva at the summit of the Russian Premier-Liga after a 2-0 victory at FC Zenit St.Petersburg.

Late goals
Two late second-half goals secured a valuable win for CSKA at Zenit in what turned out to be a very heated affair, with visiting captain Sergei Semak and home player Andrei Arshavin receiving red cards. Bogdan Shershum opened the scoring for CSKA on 67 minutes and soon after Igor Yanovski doubled their advantage.

Lokomotiv derailed
Lokomotiv slipped up at FC Saturn Moskovskaya Oblast where they lost 2-1. Serghey Rogaciov put the home side ahead on 35 minutes and just after the interval Alexei Medvedev made it 2-0. Lokomotiv had to wait until deep into injury time to score a consolation goal through Vadim Evseev.

Spartak win
FC Spartak Moskva kept their title hopes alive with a 3-1 win over FC Krylya Sovetov Samara who saw any lingering hope of moving closer to the third-placed side evaporate. A Vladimit Beschastnykh penalty, after Patrick Ovie had handled in the area, gave Spartak the lead. Andrei Kariaka equalised on 66 minutes, but Alexander Sonin and Artem Bezrodny soon put the game beyond doubt.

Derby thriller
The local derby between FC Dinamo Moskva and FC Torpedo Moskva ended in a thrilling 3-3 draw. Pape Thiaw, Dmitri Bulykin and Ornien Koroman were on target for Dinamo, while Igor Semshov, Alexander Shirko and Igor Lebedenko replied for Torpedo.

Surprise win
Lowly FC Sokol Saratov susprisingly defeated SC Rotor Volgograd 3-1, while FC Alania Vladikavkaz beat FC Shinnik Yaroslavl 2-1. FC Uralan Elista and FC Rostselmash Rostov-Na-Donu played out a scoreless draw. FC Torpedo-ZIL beat FC Anzhi Makhachkala 1-0.
