Russia round-up: Lokomotiv back on top

FC Lokomotiv Moskva beat FC Torpedo-ZIL Moskva 3-0 to move two points ahead of PFC CSKA Moskva.

FC Lokomotiv Moskva are back on top of the Russian Premier-Liga, as they beat FC Torpedo-ZIL Moskva 3-0 in a postponed derby fixture to move two points ahead of PFC CSKA Moskva.

Loskov on target
Torpedo-ZIL restricted Lokomotiv to very few openings throughout the first half, but the home side went ahead when Dmitri Loskov's cross from the touchline flew straight in past visiting goalkeeper goalkeeper Andrei Novosadov. The lead was doubled before the break when Loskov's free-kick was parried by Novosadov into the path of Julio Cesar, who made no mistake.

Nizhegorodov injury
Ruslan Pimenov clinched the victory for Lokomotiv on 64 minutes with his domestic goal since April. However, Lokomotiv defender Gennady Nizhegorodov suffered a head injury late in the game, requiring four stitches, and he is now a doubt for their UEFA Champions League encounter with FC Barcelona next Wednesday.
