Papachristou packs it in

The crisis at PAS Giannina FC has deepened after coach Vassilis Papachristou departed by mutual consent.

The deepening financial crisis at PAS Giannina FC has led to the departure of coach Vassilis Papachristou by mutual consent.

Points deduction
The newly promoted Alpha Ethniki side have won one of their six matches in the Greek top flight this season, but have minus nine points after being deducted 12 points in September by the Hellenic Football League for failing to meet debts to former players.

Continuing threat
Papachristou was forced to work under the threat of losing more points as Giannina will continue to be docked three points for each defeat and two for a draw until the necessary documents are produced to indicate debts are cleared. No points will be awarded for a victory.

Imminent appointment
The Greek club hope to appoint a successor to Papachristou ahead of Sunday's home match against Egaleo FC.
