FC PAOK Thessaloniki kept their place at the top of the Ethniki Katigoria after a comprehensive 3-0 victory against Ionikos FC on Sunday.
Goals from Giannakis Okkas, Nikos Froussos and Giasemakis Giasemi gave PAOK the win behind closed doors at the Gipedo Toumbas stadium, due to the ban imposed following the derby with Olympiakos Piraeus FC.
Despite scoring seven goals without reply in their game against Panahaiki GC, Olympiakos remain in second place. Christos Patsatzoglou's thunderous 12th-minute shot got the home side's scoring under way and Moedim Ze Elias doubled the lead 12 minutes later before Christian Karembeu made it three. The floodgates truly opened after half-time, with Stelios Giannakopoulos, Alekos Alexandris, Par Zetterberg and Lambros Houtos completing the stunning victory.
Panathinaikos FC's 2-0 win against Iraklis FC, sealed with two goals from Emmanuel Olisadebe, moved them up to third, while AEK Athens FC came away from their encounter with Proodeftiki FC with a 1-1 draw after Demis Nikolaidis hit the post from a second-half penalty. Sotiris Konstantinidis had earlier cancelled out the home side's opener from Tasos Pantos.
Aris Thessaloniki FC picked up three valuable points at the expense of Akratitos FC, recording a 2-0 win thanks to a header from Nassif Moris and Nikos Papadopoulos' penalty. The Aris hero was goalkeeper Alekos Dellios, who saved a
Petr Cvetanov penalty with the score at 0-0.
In the weekend's other games. PAS Giannina FC drew 1-1 with Xanthi FC while Egaleo FC's game with Kallithea GS and Panionios GS's match against OFI Crete FC both finished goallesss.
