Sporting lead
Sporting created the best chances on a rainy night in the Portuguese capital and they took the lead through Yannick Djaló as he headed in a cross from Nani on the left flank. Porto responded swiftly and made it 1-1 two minutes after half-time through Ricardo Quaresma when goalkeeper Ricardo failed to clear his lines with a punch. Sporting battled hard and hit the crossbar late in the game but the draw leaves the two sides locked at the top of the table on 16 points from seven matches, with Porto having a superior goal difference.
