Alberto heading for Dinamo

Brazilian striker Luiz de Souza Alberto has left Santos FC to join FC Dinamo Moskva.
Brazilian striker Luiz de Souza Alberto has left Santos FC to join Russian Premier-Liga side FC Dinamo Moskva.

Making history
Alberto, who will be the first Brazilian to play for Dinamo, agreed the move after clinching the Brazilian championship earlier this month. Dinamo were not the only club interested, with interest also believed to have come from other Russian sides and from Turkey.

Goalscoring hero
The 27-year-old scored 12 goals for Santos in 2002 and was a key man in the title victory against SC Corinthians. He scored the first goal in the 2-0 first-leg victory but missed the second leg through suspension, which Santos won 3-2 to claim a 5-2 aggregate victory.

More money
Alberto will join Dinamo as a free agent. The club, who finished eighth in 2002, have a new board in place and it is reported that the budget for the team will be vastly superior to the average Premier-Liga side.
