Real Madrid CF climbed to second place in the Spanish Primera División with a 3-0 defeat of Sevilla FC.

Real Madrid CF moved up to second place in the Spanish Primera División with a 3-0 victory over Sevilla FC at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium last night.

Raúl opener
Raúl González put Madrid ahead on nine minutes with a near-post header from Luis Figo's cross, and Flavio Conceição doubled the advantage on the half-hour with a first-time shot from the edge of the box.

Fourth straight win
Sevilla centre-back Javi Navarro was sent off early in the second half for a foul on world and European Footballer of the Year Ronaldo, and a Zinedine Zidane strike on 74 minutes secured a fourth successive win for Vicente del Bosque's side.
