Belgium Under-21 international Jeroen Simaeys has joined Club Brugge KV for an undisclosed fee from First Division rivals K. Sint-Truidense VV.
The 21-year-old midfielder has signed a four-year contract which will keep him in Bruges until summer 2011 after triggering a clause in his existing deal. The move ends a two-year spell with Sint-Truiden, whom he joined on a three-year contract from Oud-Heverlee Louvain in 2005.
Standing at 1.93m tall, Simaeys has also been deployed as a central defender. He is currently studying psychology as well as playing football and has managed 54 Belgian First Division matches since making his debut in 2005, scoring eight times. He is predicted to be one of Belgium's star players at this summer's UEFA European Under-21 Championship finals in the Netherlands.
