Switzerland Under-21 coach Bernard Challandes is to take charge of champions FC Zürich following Lucien Favre's departure for Hertha BSC Berlin.
Three-year contract
The 55-year-old has agreed a three-year contract with Zürich, who will start their UEFA Champions League campaign in the second qualifying round. The former BSC Young Boys and Servette FC coach will take over officially on 18 June with the club expressing their gratitude to the Swiss Football Association for allowing Challandes to leave his U21 job despite still being under contract. Challandes will look to continue the club's focus on youth development. Zürich have also appointed former Switzerland international André Ladner as chief scout.
