Levante UD have agreed a new 12-month contract with head coach Abel Resino having secured their top-flight status in the Spanish Primera División last week.

Levante UD have agreed a new 12-month contract with coach Abel Resino having secured their top-flight status in Spain last week.

Derby delight
The former Club Atlético de Madrid and Spanish international goalkeeper took charge of Levante in January, replacing Juan Ramón López Caro with a brief to keep the Valencia-based team in the Primera División. He achieved that goal last Saturday with a 4-2 derby victory over Valencia CF. The 47-year-old was previously at the helm of CF Ciudad de Murcia in the second division.
