BV Borussia Dortmund have strengthened their back line with the signing of experienced Croatian international defender Robert Kovač from Juventus.

BV Borussia Dortmund have strengthened their back line with the signing of experienced Croatian international Robert Kovač from Juventus.

Defensive linchpin
The 33-year-old central defender, capped 64 times by his country, has accepted a two-year deal with the Bundesliga club. The former Bayer 04 Leverkusen and FC Bayern München stalwart played 35 league games over two seasons with the Serie B champions. Kovač said: "I am delighted about the challenge ahead and am looking forward to be back playing in the Bundesliga." Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc added: "Thanks to his immense international experience, Robert will definitely strengthen our defence."
