Valencia CF have agreed to loan defender Asier Del Horno back to Athletic Club Bilbao for a season after a troubled first term at the Mestalla Stadium since arriving from Chelsea FC.

Bilbao beckons
The 26-year-old defender played just six league games last season due to a knee injury and was unlikely to be a part of coach Quique Sánchez Flores' plans for the current campaign. He has thus decided to spend the season at Bilbao, where he spent five seasons before joining Chelsea in 2005.
