Veteran FC Salzburg forward Alexander Zickler has been voted Austrian Players' Player of the Year after a memorable 2007.

"Great honour"
"The award is a great honour and decoration to me, especially since I have been chosen by my colleagues in Austria", he said. The 33-year-old former German international notched 22 goals in 29 Austrian Bundesliga last term, ending the campaign as top scorer as Salzburg claimed the title. SV Mattersburg coach Franz Lederer received the coach accolade while the team honour went to Austria's FIFA U-20 World Cup semi-finalists, whose coach Paul Gludovatz received a special prize for his achievements. Austria international Natascha Celouch of SV Neulengbach was named women's player of the year.
