Greece round-up: Soares quick off the mark

OFI Crete FC's Alessandro Soares made short work of seeing off Ionikos FC on Saturday.

Ionikos FC plunged further into relegation trouble at the foot of the Hellenic National League by losing a 15-minute encounter with OFI Crete FC on Saturday.

Power failure
The sides had first met two weeks ago but, with the score at 1-1 after goals from OFI's Xenofontas Moshogiannis and Herivelto Da Silva for the visitors, a power failure in the Theodoros Vardinoyiannis stadium caused the game to be suspended.

Soares pounces
The game resumed on Saturday and midway through the 15 minutes of action, Alessandro Soares pounced on some sloppy defending to score what proved to be the winning goal for OFI, who move up to eighth place. Ionikos, who sit second from bottom, have just six games remaining to turn their season around.
