AC Milan midfielder Kaká has been voted Player of the Year for 2007 by his fellow professionals at Italy's Oscar del Calcio.
The 25-year-old Brazilian international, who scored a competition leading ten goals en route to helping Milan win the UEFA Champions League last season, was also voted best foreign player to add to the Ballon d'Or and FIFA World Player of the Year awards he collected in December. AS Roma captain Francesco Totti, who won the ESM Golden Shoe with 26 goals last season, was voted best Italian player and best striker.
Former Italy and S.S. Lazio goalkeeper Angelo Peruzzi, who retired in June, was voted best goalkeeper, Marco Materazzi was named best defender and ACF Fiorentina midfielder Riccardo Montolivo was voted best young player. AS Roma coach Luciano Spalletti, who led the Giallorossi to the Coppa Italia and Italian Super Cup, was chosen ahead of Carlo Ancelotti and Cesare Prandelli as best coach.
