UEFA Cup campaign
The 22-year-old has signed a five-year contract with Dortmund, binding him to the club until 2013. Sporting director Michael Zorc was coy about announcing the player's transfer fee, saying: "The transfer sum is not €1m and not €3m." Dortmund's Brazilian left-back Dede added: "He is a nice guy and a similar player to [Werder] Bremen's Naldo. Maybe even a bit more aggressive." Dortmund will play in the first round of the 2008/09 UEFA Cup after losing to league champions FC Bayern München in the German Cup final.
