Betis build with Sergio García

Real Betis Balompié sent out a signal of their ambitions for the new season by signing Spanish international forward Sergio García from Real Zaragoza for a fee believed to be over €10m.
After a disappointing 13th-placed finish in the Spanish Liga last season, Real Betis Balompié signalled their ambitions for the new campaign by signing Spanish international forward Sergio García from Real Zaragoza for a fee believed to be over €10m.

EURO appearance
The 25-year-old former FC Barcelona youth team player had reportedly attracted interest from Tottenham Hotspur FC, led by ex-Sevilla FC coach Juande Ramos, but decided to join Betis. He has put pen to paper on a five-year contract in Seville. Part of the Spain squad that triumphed at UEFA EURO 2008™, Sergio García's sole appearance in Austria and Switzerland was also his second overall for his country. Having failed to break into the Barcelona first team, the attacker was loaned to Levante UD in 2004/05 and made a permanent move to Zaragoza the following season. He scored 14 goals in 90 league games for the northern club.
