Tottenham Hotspur FC have signed England Under-21 striker Bobby Zamora for a reported fee of €2.8m.
The 22-year-old has spent the past three seasons with Football League club Brighton and Hove Albion FC, but had long been tipped for a move to the Premiership. In 125 matches for Brighton he scored 76 goals.
"It's definitely going to be a challenge," Zamora said, after signing his three-year contract. "I'm here to learn. I expect every single aspect of the game to be harder and I'm looking forward to it."
Comings and goings
The London-born Zamora, who started his career with Bristol Rovers FC, is the second striker to join Tottenham this summer after Portugal's Hélder Postiga arrived from FC Porto last month. The club, who also boast Irish international Robbie Keane in their forward line, needed to find replacements for Teddy Sheringham, who has left for Portsmouth FC, and Steffen Iversen, a target of newly promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers FC.
